It's hard to fathom what goes on in the mind of someone like this. I believe they do this for religious reasons, and so believe, as you say, "their god Allah approves of it.

Do they somehow equate this with their
Father Abraham and his willingness to sacrifice his son, Isaac? Do they think that at the last moment that their god, Allah, will somehow save the life of the little ones? Don't they understand that they are serving Molech which God abhors?
