I would tend to think that your statement is true. The universe does rejuvinate itself, based on the ideas put forth in the holographic universe theory and in Hinduism.

This is most interesting and brings one nearer truth as also the fact as to how could the Hindu's conceive of such things without the aid of the models that science now has. Yes, as proc asked it is all cyclic. It is not the first time that this world is. It was there billions of years ago too. The dissolution in one night of Brahma, and of its coming back at the beginning of the day of Brahma. I am now charged to do a post on the concept, and just see the wonder of it all.
