Go for it. Do it. No time is like now. I have promised myself that and have not done it......

Thanks for the comments.
I like your idea about using color to invoke memories.  I'm going to use that one.  And, thanks for the link to your class.  I'm not in a place to do that right now and since I've been writing for roughly 36 years, I think a beginners class might not help me too much.  I do appreciate the idea of the color though and I may try that with smells and a few other things.

Thanks for the encouragement...
I'm actually going to start by going through some postings I've done on here.  After Katrina hit, I began writing about a lot of my memories.  If you go to my post called "The World According to Me," and start back at page 7 or 8, you can read some of what I'm going to put in the book.  Anyway, I just thought you might want to check it out.

I'm also about to start putting my first book of poetry together.  Since the poems are already written, that won't be as difficult.  The difficulty with the poems is that I want to illustrate them all and that's going to take some time.  And, I'm still trying to figure out how to put them together for an ebook type of thing.  Challenges, challenges.

I teach Memoir Writing...for fun...

It is exercises and prompts to get people to share and write about their family stories, for people that are beginning writers.   It is not a how-to write a Memoir book.  One of my favorite prompts is to choose a color, and write any memories that emerge from that color.  It is really fun to see what comes to mind.
