Belief is not reality
For one belief is not reality. Here's a scenerio. Bobby is a clerk at a local grocery store. While he's working, Jack comes in to buy a couple of Items. After shopping, and conversating with the clerk for a short while, Jack goes on his way, while Bobby tends to some other customers who were shopping. Ten minutes later Cindy, Jack's wife enters the store looking for her husband. She ask's Bobby, " Did my husband come in here to shop?"  Bobby say's, "yes he did, but he left." Cindy then inquires, "did you see which way he went?"  He say's, " I believe he went across the street to Lowes." So Cindy sought Jack at Lowes, but he wasn't there.  She soon discovers that he had went right next door to look around in Foot Locker. The point is Bobby's answer to Cindy' question was based on his belief and not what he knew. It's like having faith in a person, place or thing that we don't know exists. Blind faith. So I don't think bad things happen just because you believe that it will. It's like yin and yang. You have to be aware of the good and bad in everything. Some time's bad things happen to good people who may not even be thinking at things in a negative light.

Mmm.
That's very generic in scope. As in what do you mean by "good" and "bad." Either way, both can be self-fulfilling when put into practicality. Happier people live longer, stressed people live shorter. It probably takes more energy/work to attain the good in a practical sense. i.e. you believe your hard work will pay off in a raise. But it is hard work. The belief your job doesn't matter or the fact you hate your work will surely result in you not getting promotions, and perhaps losing your job. Very easy result in comparison. Strength of will and character have been defining characteristics of every great leader. You can't achieve something, especiallly something great, without believing in yourself.
