I read this post and then went back and read the previous one.
I definitely agree with you on all of your points. At work tonight, several of us were discussing problems with the school system, and even though we have various backgrounds and differing beliefs on some points, when it came to this subject, the general consensus was that education--both book smarts and common sense--has to start at home with the parents. As one of my friends once said, "Anyone can make a baby, but it takes a real man to be a father." This applies to women as well. It's easy enough to create a child, but raising one requires so much more, and I hope when my time comes that I am successful.

This article speaks to something close to my heart.In the classroom where I work as a reliever there are too many parents who were egg or sperm donors.The kids are rude,abuse and out of control.
