I agree! That one can love unconditionally is the greatest miracle of all! Thanks for stopping by.

I agree. I firmly believe that one's beliefs are based on one's level of spiritual understanding. So to each, her own beliefs.

Hooray for this statement of faith in what matters

instead of the window-dressing!

The truly faith-filled do not need miracles to prove that what Jesus taught was and is meaningful and true.  I have always considered the miracles to be intended for those who need proof, who cannot see or feel the truth that is not physical and unquestionable.

Perhaps this represents a stage in the evolution of Christianity itself.

As for me sannhet, I do not bother much for history, or whether actual proof existed or not. The essence that Jesus rose after three days, is in perfect agreement with the Hindu scientific philosophy, why three days?  Reincarnation and ascension is the spiritual message which facts may have an irrelevant bearing. Thus, for me it can never pose a threat to Christianity.

I watched this last Sunday night
From what I could determine they could give no real evidence this was the tomb of Jesus. The producer also did a documentary last year on a tomb of St. Michael ( I believe) and that was later announced to be a big false hood. I did enjoy seeing the old tombs(very interesting from a historical text) they were exciting. I honestly believe that Jesus was risen and accended into heaven not leaving a mortal body..I want no part of the concept that Jesus married Mary and so forth....So to some of us out here had the tomb been found what would then be the value of faith?

Sannhet, excellent point.
All the "miraculous" stuff is really quite tedious and by the by. The great miracle is that a human being could love unconditionally, forgive and demonstrate that it was possible to live selflessly, harmlessly and that "ordinary" people could also attain this level of being. Quabbling over events, history etc. is more often than not a distraction from really living the message yourself.

Even the Bible has contradictory statements and facts regarding the Physical resurrection of Jesus. There is immense scholarly compilation on this subject. St. Paul writing to the Corinthians says: 1 Corinthians 15:35-50  " 35 But someone may ask, "How are the dead raised? With what kind of body will they come?" 36 How foolish! What you sow does not come to life unless it dies. 37 When you sow, you do not plant the body that will be, but just a seed, perhaps of wheat or of something else. ..............44 it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body. ". Your conclusion is the crux of message. It is Jesus spiritual wisdom that is important not other events in his life. For this reason I value the Gospel of Thomas and the canonical Gospel of St. John.

I like your take on it my friend, yup, I don't care if He rose up, I just carry His message too and nothin' will disturb my faith. He's here with me all the time, the rest doesn't matter.

There seems to be several emerging “theories” which differ from Christianity as we’ve understood it for years. Like The De Vinci Code and others, movies or films are being churned out to challenge our way of thinking. Perhaps the miracle and story of God and Jesus as celebrated and honoured by so many thousands of people is best left as is but there will always be scholars who will chose to dissect it.
