I agree except that females are paid less at any age than males. You can't
pay for your own schooling and housing on a waitress' salary, unless, perhaps, you work in a restaurant in New York City where there may be a few big tippers. Construction jobs hardly ever go to women.

Educational Credit
The Hope credit is an educational alloted for those in thier first tow years of college. The credit is caluclated at 100% for the first $1,100 in qualified expenses and 50% for then next $1,100. the total credit is then calculated to be $1.650 for 2006. There is more information on this credit and the Life-Time Learning credit on the IRS website at
www.irs.gov. Just look up publication 970.
