When those little voices are screaming at you, it is a good time to listen.
I have a good story about that.
My friend in San Francisco was driving to a church service in Campbell. He'd been there before for other reasons and knew it was a little tricky the way he was going. He was on the off ramp and the little voice in his head voice was screaming turn right. He saw another on-ramp ahead that he felt he should turn on. The little voice got louder and louder, ("to the right, you dummy.") When he slowed down and looked right, there was a huge sign that said Campbell. He told the little voice, "OK, OK, you were right." If he taken the other on ramp, he would have run about 30 minutes late.

Wherever they come from,
ignoring hunches is a bad idea. I can think of two occassions when I ignored the little voice screaming in my head and neither outcome was good.

There's a play on HANCHES and HUNCHES--at least to make me smile.

I first read it as 'haunches', and rolled that word over on the sentence. It semed very meaningful! Jokes apart. I am fully with you and Oprah on this one.
