Thanks Richinstore, Chris, Carole --the USA did not follow Winthrop or Penn
--the Quaker who started Pennsylvania based on freedom of expression and religion--either. Ben Franklin and Jefferson rebelled against both; Jefferson writing his own Bible, and Franklin and he opting for Deism. I think the USA has a balance between being too "natural" and "too religious." Some pull at both extremes, but certainly, we reject the model of being sheep or sheeples. I may seek membership in a nude colony; but I am told they also frown on people who stare. So even amoing the free-est, there is a decorum, a certain code. I think rather than morality, I was thinking a code of honor/dishonor/respect for others. My Dad taught me that the worst insult I could give any man was to interfere--even by falling in love--with a person's wife, or taking sides in a dispute between family members and spouses. I guess, I am a prisoner of my culture, or my Dad's training....?Shalom/peace/friendship ALWAYS, Neil
