Blonde....

Beautiful pictures - beautiful you.  Gosh, we never get to see this kind of beauty - only bad stuff.  Thank you for sharing your experiences and your pictures.

You're quite a young lady!

We only see the dusty, wind swept, blood stained images.  How nice to be given a glimpse of what would seem a very picturesque country.....  Thanks.

These were the first tranquil photos I've seen of Iraq. Quite a contrast
to the CNN videos.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed in hope that soon, all pictures from that country will look like yours.  Thank you for showing them. :)

Some Great pics to share and it must have been so adventurous and scary as well. You are daring, Girl, and worth holding in awe. My own deep love for flying and getting into the Forces was cut short by my elder brother dying of a crash, just when I got selected, and my mother never let me join the Air Force.

Corbin

Yes, chaos, but organized chaos. Once you are on the base camps, it is actually peaceful.

I was stuck at Baghdad International Airport for 2 days recently and it was a little creepy, not to mention me staying 2 days outside the wire of the US Installation by the airport....that was also a little scary. There were no mortar attacks outside the wire, but when I was on the US  Military Installation in Baghdad....there were in coming attacks everyday. No one was killed while I was there, but you can hear it and feel the ground shake when the rounds come in.

There were helicopters going down a lot in Baghdad while I was there. I'm sure you heard about the Blackwater Security Company helicopter going down...I was there at that time.

On a lot of the base camps that I've been on, it is quite most of the time and there are rare reports of death and injury inside the wire.....it is when they are on convoys or special missions when they get injured and killed most of the time.

Flying use to be considered pretty safe, but times are changing in the skies right now. I only travel and let my Sister travel on Cargo planes now, not helicopters.
