Jemmie...

hope you're not getting tired of everyone's ideas. Here's some things to do:

  • Go to the library and check out the book Sleep Away the Pounds. It has hundreds of tips for helping you get more sleep.
  • Get some CDs that play the sound of running water. No music enhancement, just rivers, or surf, or waterfalls, or rainstorms. Start it just as you turn off the light and snuggle down.
  • Drink camomile tea half an hour before bedtime.
  • Avoid caffeine and sugar before bedtime -- the French would tell you no coffee at all after noon.
  • Keep your house lights low after sundown. Some studies have shown that high light levels interfere with the sleep induction process.
  • Sleep in a completely dark room. Cover any LEDs and turn off night-lights. Use light-blocking blinds or shades.

I have struggled with bouts of insomnia since the wreck in July 2005. These things help me a lot.

Actually, I've tried that.  No luck.  But thanks for the suggestion!  I appreciate it.

This may sound wierd
This may sound weird but drink a half a cup of coffee or regular tea, sometimes it works, especially when I am overtired. Something about the opposite effect.

Kabu
I would exercise more, but by the time I get home from work these days, it is already too dark to go out for a walk (I don't live in the best of neighborhoods) and too dark for any gardening (that, coupled with the lack of a garden makes things difficult lol).  I usually try to get some reading in before bed.  That tends to relax me enough.  But lately, even that hasn't been working.

Thanks for dropping by!  And Hello to you too!

Have you tried a walk during the day..or gardening or the gym
I don't know how mobile you are(this is my first visit so "Hello") but I find I sleep better if I get some excercise. What's worrying you?
