Nevertheless, my statement still is true. I guess I got a little bit carried away. I would classify that statement as spin--something I really try to avoid. Thanks for pointing it out!

Errr...
...you already are "safer in the air than crossing the street in Manhattan or Los Angeles". Air travel remains incredibly safe, since at least 1974, when more people worldwide were kicked to death by donkeys than killed in aircraft disasters.
