Comments on Antarctic temperatures disagree with climate model predictions

Go to IT CURES HOARSENESS! The "Global Warming" HoaxAdd a commentGo to Antarctic temperatures disagree with climate model predictions

Easy!

First, these two brief paragraphs are terribly written. They are self-contradictory; if records go back to 1880, then it is illogical to claim that last month was the warmest January "ever." Rather, it was the warmest January since 1880 if this is to be believed. And, the first sentence of the second paragraph should read, "the new record was fueled"; the way it is written, it refers to the former, not the new, record. This is lousy writing and worse editing. One Emoticon Hammer for AP!

Second, once you get past the amateurish writing, it's true. But as I've been hammering Xenox about, simply saying the climate is undergoing a warming trend is not the same as identifying the cause of the warming.

Thanks for the comment, Scoop!

Explain this

WASHINGTON (AP) - It may be cold comfort during a frigid February, but last month was by far the hottest January ever.

The broken record was fueled by a waning El Nino and a gradually warming world, according to U.S. scientists who reported the data Thursday. Records on the planet's temperature have been kept since 1880.
