We're pretty touchy and territorial about our privacy rights here in
Australia too. People came here from all over to find reedom ...still....

I guess I agree with you PatB...
Every instance is going to be different though. But basically we have no right to poke into people's personal affairs without just cause.
As the war on terrorism escalates, some of those rights we cherish may be diminished in order to preserve the freedom and safety of our citizens.
Evil lurks everywhere.

What you've done here is open a Pandora's box of a debate...
The First Amendment (freedom of speech) is at issue. As a former news reporter, I believe in freedom of speech. It seems unreasonable to me to put unnecessary restrictions on all of us because one or two may do something sneaky. There are plenty of checks and balances in the current system, in my opinion. :)

Tanga...I doubt if it's as bad there where you live...
But here in America people tend to think their own rights to privacy supercede the public's right to be safe - What happened on 9/11 has changed our thinking though.

Privacy rights can be a touchy subject
It has to be respected, but a line has to also be drawn. Makes one wonder

Hadn't thought of that Decshak...
I think I can see a reason for legal action against a company doing that without your permission though. It's an invasion of privacy.
We Americans are very big on our RIGHTS not being violated.

If the IP address is available to Blogit and they want to check it, who is
to stop them? Sometimes I'm on vacation and blog from a remote location, so an alternative IP address doesn't really tell Blogit that it's not you.
