The fluffy toy you're pouring out your heart to -- is yourself.
It's a way of dealing with an overwhelming situation. It's like your physical body is the universe and suddenly the polar star has shifted, and your orbiting self has to adjust to new gravitational pulls. Eventually you'll get more comfortable. :)
