Nice to see your comment. I also spent a better part of my 36 years of profession in Sales & Marketing. A Philip Kotler says "It is useless to tell a river to stop running; the best thing is to learn how to swim in the direction it is flowing".

Wow, this is great!
I think adapting to changing environments is one of the greatest assets one can have in the business world. People have a tendency to want to stick with what they know and resist change…….but change is a necessity for survival in a world of flux. Great post!

I've read the (little) book and although it was assigned reading when I was wearing a "marketing" hat, it has many life applications.  Thanks for reminding me of it - I think I'll dig it out and give it another read.  Move with the winds of change - it's the only way to go.

A very nice cheesy metaphorical story. The key to change is to be mindfully aware of a change. Conservatism is the opposite - unmindfully unaware. That is why it becomes so difficult for one to change.
