If Hawai'i is that humid, normally, I'd be reluctant to invest in a humidifier. Even if I lived in a dry desert climate like that of Nevada, I'd still be reluctant, but then, I have immune-system problems due to the transplant drugs. I think it's in humidifiers (rather than dehumidifiers, which pull moisture out of indoor air) in which all the nasty bugs grow - the ones people like me (and AIDS patients, and cancer chemo patients) have to watch out for.

I think we should
get a humidifier as our gas central heating does seem to dry the air out, in the early mornings especially.

Jemmie
I've got the same problem. We have a humidifier hooked up to our furnace, but not even that helps much this time of year.

jemmie,
humid atmosphere not only hurts you nose but can also make you cough due to dry throat.

Hope it gets better soon. If it doesn't you might try
a saline spray. The best one is called 'Ocean.' It really helps!

Dry as the Mohave...
It has been so cold here the last week that the furnace and car heater is cranked up all the time. Not only is my skin cracked and dry (I'm hoping I'm like a snake and will shed my skin to find a whole new body underneath
) but the static electricity I'm generating would power California!
There is a nasal spray that one of my co-workers swears by. All that is in it is saline, no drugs at all but she finds that the water mist really helps.
Take care,
