What a question..
"Are your own worst critic?" - I can think of so many answers to that in my case and it leaves me much to think about, although I believe this is a positive thing. Thanks for the post.

Soooooo true!
Hello - I'm right there with ya! I started reading a lot about the Law of Attraction a few months ago and it really is amazing...
Too often we can allow our experiences to become the wrong ones, by listening to others and their negativity, which in turn usually affects our own outlook. I do my best now to block out others when they try to bring me down. It can be really hard but it's so important. One big thing I did, was stop watching the news!!!! It used to make me cry every single time... and when someone tries to tell me some horrible story they saw on the news I tell them I'm not interested.
It's so important to learn how to keep the negativity out of your life. Some people are so unhappy that they want to spread it on to you.......I used to get caught up in it. Now I just say I'm not interested... Most people take offense, but that's their own problem. I have no affect on people's emotions, they are in charge of themselves.
Anyway - thanks for posting :)

Troosha...
Great post and I can believe in self fulfilling prophecy to some extent. But what if you try to think positively all the time and yet bad things continuously happen? Sometimes it just sucks. Thank you for stopping by my blog!

Troosha...
I used to know a man who woke up every single day and told himself it was going to be a good day. When someone asked how he was doing he'd always tell them he was feeling or doing great. He constantly smiled. He was constantly upbeat and lively. It used to make me sick. It used to make me think he was living in total denial...until, I started mocking and modeling my behavior after his.

It's not always easy to be "up" and some days are easier than others, but you are absoultely correct, in all of your statements here! I'm only sorry that I missed this post when you initially introduced it.

The quote is from Paul's Letter to the Romans
St. Paul was a lot more sage and human than modern critics, particularly feminists, give him credit for. He was, in fact, very upfront about his biases and about them being biases than most scriptural writers, which makes him more vulnerable to politically correct critics and other propagandists. However, those of us who read him to learn find many such gems as Romans 12:12. One of my personal favorites is I Corinthians 14:19, because it confirms my own attitude about the relative importance of some of my gifts.

Good post Troosha,
I read a comment about you and FM? If there's anything I can do to help, please email me. I haven't had to deal with it for many years. The answers are sometimes extremely simple like a particular food allergy or environmental allergy or hormonal. Please feel free at any time if I can be of any help. It was a long fifteen years for me and a blessing to recover that I need to pass on to others.

Many people don't even realize the thoughts they continuously feed themselves. It can be amazing what you find yourself thinking when you are aware of your thoughts. But luckily it can be corrected.

Another Biblical reference to the law of attraction: Seek and you shall find. Ask and it shall be given...
I particularly like the one you quoted--Is it from Proverbs?

Troosha- You ask so many pertinent & valid questions.....of which the
answers are not sometimes obvious. It just shows that we are only human....with either BIG egos or small egos....and we react accordingly. I think I'm a winner...and that God wants me to be one.....no matter what anybody else says or thinks.

Troosha…..this is so pragmatic…….
some get so tied down in pessimism and an outright refusal to believe anything…….and yet, as you say here, we have to find our footing in hopeful optimism to achieve our goals.

I'm my own worst critic, especially when it comes to my writing. However, the message isn't
You can't do it! It's
You can do it better! Not really negative, but it often has the same result of impeding my progress.
