Like Talion, I was also relieved when the last winter storm missed Chicagoland a few weeks ago. I hate all that snow - too many bad memories of 1967 (our worst storm ever in Chicagoland, one which paralyzed the entire town for about a week) and 1979 (when the snow fell over a period of several weeks, making going to dialysis treatments an interesting venture at best - and the trip to get the transplant was just as interesting).

Queen V was at the window every five minutes until midnight waiting for it, worse than a kid on Christmas Eve. Of course earlier she did the required emergency shopping, buying enough groceries to last until doomsday. Frankly, I'm relieved it missed us. Snow is beautiful and all, but a pain if you have to drive anywhere.
