Truth does not restrict.  It opens vists never before imagined.

Did Jesus lie?
None of us will ever know.  More than 2 centuries passed between the man's life and when the words were consecrated to written script.  How many versions they went through from the time of speaking until the time of recording only the wind knows.

Ben, I was going to bring them up but I don't know if they mean well

And what about the politicians who lie?
At least some of them can get away with lying through their teeth. Religious leaders, too, as recently as Ted Haggard (the only reason he was outed was that the hooker who outed him did so voluntarily; had this male hooker kept his mouth shut, Haggard would still be a pastor and the president of the National Association of Evangelicals).
