Unlike many Americans, I'm used to thinking metrically. I was transplanted at the University of Chicago - a true Monster of the Midway, if ever there was one - and everything there is done metrically. Even though you get fluids in metric at most hospitals, most places still weigh you in pounds and tell you how many ounces to drink if you're on a fluid restriction, but at the University of Chicago, they weigh you in kilos and give you fluid restrictions in liters rather than ounces. You're even told to take your temperature in Centigrade post-transplant there, but at most hospitals they still take your temp in Fahrenheit. So maybe I'd get used to other changes like the ones you talk about - ten-day or eight-day weeks.
