I don't think I have any strange fears.
Just spiders, which is common. And I have a mild fear of heights, but only when I'm up on a ladder or somewhere that I could easily fall.

Escalators scare me also
I am always afraid that my feet will get caught between the steps or I will trip or not get off at just the right moment and fall on my face..

hmmm, not those...
but we once knew a woman who was afraid of frogs. We would laugh at her, of course.
If I think of anything odd, I'll let you know. Fear of flying into one of the airports in the area is not odd though...pilots do have to have special certification I am told.

I have no fear of flying and have landed in NY at LaGuardia and JFK...There is a plus or minus factor of 5 feet or so because of the river and the with JFK, the ocean...So you should be okay...Once while landing in LaGuardia I was ina DC10 and as we were on approach there was nother DC10 taking off...needless to say we went vertical real quick!!!
