I live fairly close to a national park so this situation comes up farily often... it is indeed tragic.

I agree with you, Jemmie. I just read the article on AOL a few minutes ago, and the mountain lion was just "doing what comes naturally" - trying to feed itself. In turn, the man and his wife were also operating essentially on instinct, by working to stay alive. (We're all endowed with that animal instinct, whether we take pills to stay alive, or hunt or fish for food. Heck, it's what motivates people to get transplants! It's just instinctive behavior, and I see the same hunting instinct in my cat Michael in particular.)
