Thanks for the info RkyMtn...
I think some of those weekly shows like 60 minutes should do a program about a modern reservation. Most of us know nothing about it.

Hi Passionflower.....yes they still have reservations but it is modern with
buildings, homes, etc. just like a normal community and not with teepees! LOL Actually is just an official name for the land ownerd by indians.
I did a post about my great uncle last year before I quit. He was a famous mob boss and has been portrayed in movies and in a couple of documentaries. And no I can't get anyone bumped off.....that's just bad karma! LOL

RkyMtn...Can you have somebody bumped off and stuff??? COOL...that's super cool!
I also think it's very wonderful also that your sis was able to re-connect with her Indian heritage. I honestly didn't even know there were still people living on reservations.

Hey PF I didn't know you were part American Indian. My ex-husband is
half blackfoot indian and my sister (we adopted her as a baby) is full-blood Lakota Sioux. When she got older she connected to her family and roots and she is now living on an indian reservation in North Dakota. She is a geologist and works for the tribe as the environmental protection specialist. My background is 100% Sicilian and all I know is we have a lot of mafia connections being my great uncle was a big boss in the Joe Bonnano crime family in NY. So I guess you could say in my family we have mobsters and indians! LOL BTW, Weren't the Cherokee indians mean mother f**kers? Good looking, but mean! LOL

ROFLMAO Presley...
Okay, here's the deal, Little Runs-at-Mouth...we gathered around the blazing campfire at midnight, got nekkid and put on our little loin cloths. Then we drank a bunch of FIREWATER and passed the Peace Pipe a few times.
After that we decided that we needed more feathers and started chasing those chickens that had been milling around Chief Hole-in-Head's tent. It was all downhill after that.
I woke up in little stream behind village pretty much in same condition as you.

Little Runs-At-Mouth sorry she passed out before nekid tribal fire dance. She must smoke too much peace pipe and make her tired. Why she coughing up feathers today? And why her clothes missing and her hair in disarray?
Passionflower - I think you could turn this little Indian story we've got going into something like one of your road trip stories!

My grandmother's father was a Menominee half-breed. My grandmother was not proud of being a quarter indian and tried to deny it most of the time. But, my dad grew up spending a lot of time with his grandfather and was very proud of his heritage and loved learning words from his language. He called me
Ahwapahqokiew which means,
Happy Woman.

My brother once had a student whose last name was Two Crow. Her first name was something like Benayshi. (I hope she's not on Blogit; she would be grown up by now). Using her name as a model I guess I could be Three Cat.

I agree Malcom...but I was raised in the bible belt...
The Baptists don't allow any dabbling into anything that is related to the occult, which they believe this gift is.
We're starting to get some clever looking blog designs around here. Yours is great.
