but now our president seems to acknowledging the truth of global warming
diminishing ice caps, thinner ice sheets in Hudson's Bay (Bush acknowledges this), huge chunks of ice the size of New Jersey breaking off into the Arctic off of Greenland, Antarctic ice sheets diminishing, glaciers melting at record rates, and, to top it off, ice sample cores showing that over the past several hundreds of thousands of years, this present period is the warmest.
all the opponents of global warming have to do is demonstrate that this is not the result of global warming.
again, if we do not act, we are taking a chance that it is nt happening -- and if it is happening, every year, every decade of inaction only adds to the problem; however, if we decide that this may indeed be happening, and take actions to minimize the effects of human activity, then although it is already too late to reverse a lot, at least we won't be exacerbating the situation.
