Well, I have dealth with it more than once.
It is the punishment of choice. Lets reward for children with 3 days off for misbehavior...Oh Yeah.....so unproductive.

That is outrageous. Detention is only appropriate for older children at Senior school.

Why make your daughter pay the price?
Tell the prinicipal that it's not your daughter's fault that she was late and go take her out of detention. Ridiculous doesn't even come close. Outrageous is more like it.
