- Go to Good God! Do You Ever Shut Up!?
Whew!
Glad I could find some understanding around here! I lived through the night and she went to sleep quickly! Luckily, she hasn't been quite as talkative today.

rachel--
maybe you should just get a pair of ear plugs and pretend to be listening. lol. or use an ipod with earbud headphones. LOL.

You should ask her if she's been remembering to breathe...lol...that might stump her.

That can be annoying in a child
My Nephew is the same way. He's 10 and when Aunt Lisa is around....he never shuts up.
But the biggest annoyance is that trait in a co-worker. I have one like that. ugh.

I have one like that....
He didn't talk til he was 3, no matter how much we begged and cajoled. Five years later, the kid is still talking and I can't get him to shut up, no matter how much I beg and cajole.
I've been known to lose it and just yell, "Shut UP for a few minutes, won't you!" I'm not a perfect mom.
But I think the nicest way I handle it is to say, "Darling, what you have to say is VERY important to me, but right now, my ears are overloaded. Could we give them a five minute break, and then we can talk some more?" He seems to understand and usually will give me at least two minutes of peace.
