I love that--teaching them to find the truth by listening to their heart. There could not be a more perfect way!!

Julia, I always told my children when they were growing up , about pets
going to their rightful rewards. Later, when my children were going through religious experiences, my oldest daughter told me she was hurt when she heard differently. I asked her this question "Which belief makes you feel better in your heart ?"

I know, my dad said the same thing to me. I'm like, okay dude, whatever. I can't get into the discussion with him because he's already convinced that he knows the truth.

certain religions do claim animals don't have souls. I just laugh--to me, that is preposterous!!

Julia...I absolutely believe animals have souls. There are some

wonderful books out there too. One of my good friends is an animal communicator. I know most christians will adamantly say aninmals don't have souls because that is what they preach in some churches, I know I used to be christian.

Hey, the thought-process in this conversation is mind-chewing!

Julia,
I think living things that breathe have souls.

As a catholic
we were brought up to think that animals' souls wouldn't get to Heaven, but try telling that to the cat that is keeping my feet lovely and warm right now.

Julia - let me clarify - there was typo in that sentence!
Take ants for example.  Do they defend the nest out of biological loyalty or do they love their fellow ants?  Same thing with bees who protect their queen!  Loyalty, because it's in their DNA or do they love the queen!  Then take a dog that protects its young pups vs protecting its owner!

I couldn't make a whole lot of sense out of your fourth sentence!! I think I might have an idea of what you were going for, but I might also be totally wrong! LOL. It's a little strange, no??

Julia
Do animals have souls?  I think most mammals have souls.  Gee, that's  tough question.  One has to determine whether an animal or insect's character traits or representative of act performed out of love or loyalty to it's biolgical make-up.  Interesting question!
