YPunday, your sense of very evident in yoru comment!
I love the phrase,"many aches and acres of practice". That is so true and my short legs sure get tired sometimes as they ache through the acres of life. Blessings to you and yours!

I teach a toe to ache? LOL
http://www.sunflowerfabrics.com/f8943-g.jpg
"To teach" is easy; to live the teaching, now that will take aches and acres of parctice, sacrifice and just boring repetition of surrender/prayer. But you are a close reader. catching my point that "Your directives to [t]each " when the "T" gets clobbered on my keyboard. See, I blame to the vowels "o" and "e". Shalom

I admire your deep-seated love of the Bible. On the utility of lay apostolate, the dogma driven agenda of the catholic church leaves very little to be done on seeking deeper meaning in the Canonical scriptures and the treasure house of knowledge that is hidden, once the heretical clouding is banished, in the Gnostic writings. This is the reason that lay apostolate is now restricted to service of the poor & needy. Recently I had a request from my parish to write a prayer for 'Meditating on the Sacred Heart of Jesus'. I have written a prayer and a meditation booklet which has now been published. But the response I had from the diocesan hierarchy is minimal. The prayer and the booklet was highly appreciated by the Seminarians and Jesuit intellectual. The foreword for the booklet was written by the Rector of a Major Seminary. Why I bring this out is the need for change and formation of lay groups outside the ambit of formal structure. Blessings!

Right you are! I think we oftentimes get hung up in preaching to the choir when we need to get our hands dirty with the rest of the bunch 24/7. Good post!

faholo, wow! Did you hear me shout "Amen!"??..:)
it's so true our actions speak louder than our words ever will.
..
preaching and teaching isn't always verbal, although I'm not saying we should walk around like deaf mutes, either....there is a fine line and if we could ever find it, the world might just get turned upside down
