Yep they should get
The same sentence straight across the board...I thought the one teacher that seduced her student by sending him a video of her stripping (while on probation) received 8 years..Pathetic defense used the "she's addicted to sex"...didn't work thank God..

The intensity of evil? If we were judged on intent. I am not sure what this justice system woukd turn into. You bring up a valid point though. The women that commit these crimes cry and weep and claim that their medication or some psychological disorder made them do this. The system takes pitty on them and says oh, the are too pretty or too sorry to be sentanced, lets go light. Yet a man with the same defense is sentanced more harshly.

I welcome any post you make on this subject. Yes the arousal factor you mentioned is another key point. When we really think about it, even pedophiles that murder, male of female have pretty light sentances. This needs to be changed.

The words you put your response in were concise and true.
I agree with everything. The system is pushing this to the extent where a woman will end up going to far and the laws will have to be changed, the laws are slow to change, very true

I'm not really sure it is the same intensity of evil.

Joanna,
Absolutely, women should face the same punishment. As Talion was saying, the lines are blurry because of the arousal factor in males, among other things, mostly social/cultural in nature. But I speak from experience, having been molested myself: Girls get aroused too in such situations too. It's the body's natural response to a stimulus, just less obvious in girls.
Is it okay if I post something about this in response, Joanna?

I think you're absolutely right about the double standard. Maybe it's because of some collective bizarre
Mrs. Robinson fantasy. The beauty of the molesters certainly adds credence to this idea. (Along these same lines, being chosen as a sexual partner by a "beautiful" woman is an honor, a feather in a guy's cap, something to brag about. Had the women been "ugly" the stories would've been entirely different.) Maybe it's because for a woman to have sex with a male in the traditional sense, the male must be "aroused." This "arousal" is mistakenly misconstrued as a version of "consent" thus destroying our typical concept of rape. Regardless of why, the double standard much be eliminated. However, I fear it won't happen until there's a case that either ends even more tragically (a child is subsequently murdered) or one of same sex molestation.
