Sannhet, in regard to tolerance! I heard Ryan Dobson talking about
his work with youth recently. He tells them it is time to be intolerant to the evil that surrounds us. He says, tell your friends no to evil and stand-up for peace, love and honesty! Not a bad concept I think! faholo

How sadly true. That's why I'm with Rumored in despising the term religion. Thanks for taking the time to stop by.

I wish I could take credit for it, but I copied from the religioustolerance.com website. Thanks for reading though!

People going to war and feeling exhalted. Pretty scary isn't it? Thanks for reading.

I think you are absolutely right. No war is ever about just religion. It is usually a tool - a very powerful tool - but a tool none-the-less. Thanks for the visit.

Sannhet, wars in the name of religion have always left me literally speechless. Thank you for this chart. It is a pictorial representation of the absurdity, the insanity, the sheer outrageousness of 'wars in the name of religion'. MoonSpirit

sannhet, it's been that way forever and likely will never change...
I'm thinking of the Crusades, the Spanish Inquisition..the list is endless...thats why I detest the word "religion".....

A wonderful tabulation, my friend. This is something that one can just go on reading. For that I'll come back again and again. Yes, as you rightly say people have killed their brethrens in the name of religion probably more in numbers than wars have killed human beings. And the most stupid part is that when killing is for religions' sake, the killers don't feel themselves as one, as there is  no feeling of remorse. Rather they feel exalted.

What a fabulous table!  (Not the subject matter, of course, but the information it provides).  I've been looking for something like this.  It will be the topic of conversation this evening.  After dinner my husband and I like to have meaningful discussions and this is the kind of thing that has come up a number of time.  Thanks for taking the time and thank you for sharing it with us.

Are they wars really about religion?
Or is religion simply the tool that the powerful use to manipulate the masses into fighting for their own purposes?
