I don't think I ever drank the recommended amount. I can't see how it can
be done. But I guess that's just me. I think the contest was a bad idea, not only because it resulted in a person's death, but also because it is so gross to think of somebody having to hold it in as long as possible. Can't a person burst their bladder?

A good piece
but I have to disagree with you on liability. Stupidity, yes. Liability, no. She alone was responsible for what she did, and it was up to her whether she did this silly contest or not. They all signed waivers - that tells you immediately that something could possibly go wrong and that whoever doesn't want to get sued. I understand her wanting the game for her kids, but it was up to her to look at the pros and cons. Any idiot knows that you can't eat or drink like this without side effects. Your blood pressure raises every time you drink a glass of cold water. It's up to people to treat their bodies with respect.
She should have done a bit of research, quit at the first sign of her body telling her something wasn't right, taken a long pee, maybe exercised to sweat some of it out, then after eliminating some of the excess ate something salty to try to rebalance her body a bit. Her ignorance is what killed her, sadly. I do fel for her family but nobody forced this lady to take part. She made a choice. Sadly it cost her, her life.
