Yeah, I just posted on the Indianapolis game last night, R.I. What a game!
I loved the end, especially that interception.  But I didn't take credit for picking the Super Bowl teams, because I originally picked San Diego and Chicago to play, somewhere around week eleven or twelve and stuck with it until the Chargers let me down...

Good thoughts, Drew, and something to be considered. I am a Patriot
hater.  Don't know why; just do.  Maybe it is that they embody the Peter Principle in football.  Hey, but they lost to Indy last night, so...

Saul,
I could not agree more with you about the Patriots.  The sheer disgust that reigns over me when they win is overwhelming.  They are good.  But that they are taking steps towards a level of greatness only known to the Steelers I find unacceptable.  Just like in baseball this past season, the NFL playoffs are no longer crowning the best team, they are lifting the hottest team, and I for one think it hurts the game.  Every now and then when the underdog wins it seems like destiny.  I have recently found myself rooting for the top dog to win, in anything.  The watering down of playoffs with wild cards has a dark side, slightly better than average teams are taking home the championship trophies at an alarming rate.  There was a year when the Patriots were the best team in football.  Two of those titles, however, they have no reasonable claim that they were the best team.  The Steelers last season were, at best, the sixth best team and a hot streak put the Lombardi Trophy in their hands, but I give them credit.  The Patriots were the recipients of the generous "tuck rule" gift en route to their first unlikely Super Bowl.  Then last week they were given the decision in the twelth round after the Chargers punched themselves in the face long enough to fall down while the Patriots stood, again, with their hands out taking the gift with glee.  Enough I say.  It is time to eliminate rounds of playoffs in all sports and make the regular season #1 and #2 play in a real championship.  Let there be a watered down playoff system to crown #3.  Then we could give out the Belichick Trophy to the luckiest/hottest team.

I was alright about half way through that post, richinstore. Blogging is
