Rule one
The dealer deals off the bottom of the deck, so don't bother throwin' them in. The next hand will look just the same.

Whysper...I've tried to throw this hand in repeatedly...
But for some reason, God wants me to play these cards.  So hell! I guess I will!

PF

We're always in charge of the game.  It's our life, our reality and we make it everything that it is.  The challenge can be finding a game that fits the hand we've been dealt.

I'm not saying it's easy, but it sure beats the hell out of throwing your hand in.

Still working on that one, Richinstore....LOL
I think we ALL are!

You should know when to go in and when to run.

How do I do that Whysper???
Didn't think I was in charge of the game! Only of playing my own cards.

Another piece of advice
If you don't like the cards you were dealt, change the game.

Presley...those of us with addictive personalites really have to watch
out for stuff like gambling. It DOES give you a nice 'high'...a sort of adrenaline rush. But it's dangerous.

It absolutely does Offbeat...
But I haven't wanted to be wiser and stronger...I've just wanted to be left alone...LOL!

That's so true, Jade...
I've decided to stop whining so much and just live my life, whatever it consists of...it's true that it hasn't been like I wanted it to be, but it's time for me to "get over it" and move on.

Amen!
I completely agree with you on this one.  The people who are dealt a bad hand and play it with a smile on their face can still have a wonderful, fulfilling life; it's the ones who complain or decide to quit playing completely who never get anywhere.

I like playing Black Jack.  I also like Roulette.  The thrill can be very addicting so when I do gamble I leave my credit cards at home and only take with me the money I'm willing to give up!

Malcolm...I hear you! Sometimes it does feel like that.
Have you been visited by the Clown Police? There are a few jokers in there.

Hi Presley...what type of gambling?
My dad had a pretty bad gambling prob so I've stayed away from it my whole life.

Corbin...I'm guilty of crying alot about my cards.
From now on though, I've decided to play them with exuberance and let the chips fall where they may.

OMG Whysper! What a story!
You're  a very funny guy but remind me not to get drunk with you...LOL!!!

Passion....
How are you this morning....

I agree with playing the cards you are dealt.....so many seem to piss and moan about deserving a different "hand"......never trying to play with what has been dealt them.....

I tend to look at these people as not having a  "full deck" to begin with!

Taps...maybe YOU can't blame him...LOL!!
The rest of us blame him for everything.

I had this friend

Tall, well sculptured features and long curly strawberry blonde hair.  He oozed charisma, and the girls were always all over him like flies on poop.

The strange thing, is that he always ended up with the "large" girls.  He'd brush aside the hot babes and swoop up on a big gal and off they'd go to you know where.

After I'd known him for a few years, we were sitting with some friends late one evening and one of my other friends asked what it was that attracted him "heavy" girls.

I'm not really attracted to them, he said. It's just that one day I was sitting in the park and God spoke to me, He said "Don, someone has to take care of the fat girls."

I broke out laughing and said, you idiot, that was me.  You were drunk and I wanted the cheer leader and she woudn't come with us unless someone took care of her fat friend.

God speaks in mysterious ways, doesn't he?

So, if life is just a card game and God is the dealer, we can't really blame him because we cut and stack the deck ourselves.

PaaaaasssssH...
This part is so smart!

Play the cards you’re dealt. If you play the cards you’re dealt, then you automatically win.

Right now I am reading a book by Dr. Laura Schlesinger called "Bad Childhood, Good Life".   She, like you takes a very pragmatical approach to things.  I am learning a lot with this book and I look very forward to the healing I'll surely find throughout its pages.

Thank you for sharing your new found glory!
