No...but I get like that with films.
I have such a bad memory of what the films are called...that when I buy them or rent them and put them on I realise I did watch it.....sometimes I get to the end of the film and know what is coming...LOL

I wonder if maybe Cromwell wrote under another name??
I got the same feeling when reading some of Dean Koontz novels.  I found out later he had also written (years earlier) under the name of Owen West.  Just so happened that I was reading Owen West waaaay before I was reading Dean Koontz.

Malcolm,
Maybe, but I still wonder...

HG,
I feel you on the parts about their being no original plots anymore, because although some of the book seems so familiar, now that I've finished it, I'm not 100% sure that I've read it before, but I won't spend a lot of time pondering that particular mystery.

John,
No I didn't see that post, but I bet you must have felt slightly put out. My husband goes by Ell's formula too, except he falls asleep at different points during the programmes.

I have
but maybe it's the author's problem and not yours?

I think I have. I guess there are three possibilites - you have read the book before, you're experiencing deja vu, or there simply are no original ideas anymore and all plots get repeated!

word

It happens daily, word.  Did you read the blog about my buying a book and on arriving home, discovering I'd read it before?  Not only did they take it back, but Ell came up with a brilliant idea.  She photocopied the 'books already written' page in the author's books so that I could take it with me the next time I went shopping for books.

By the same token, Ell has a great idea for re-watching television shows and not remembering the endings - she falls asleep halfway through the first showing.
