Faholo,
Thanks for putting that in pespective. Sometimes in trying to do the right thing at work, I get caught up in thinking about what will happen to the person if they get fired etc, however what happens most often is that the person keeps right on doing what they are doing with no regard for others.

Hello Word.Smith! The normal procedure in the workplace for this
behavior is firing, after documented verbal reprimands and a written reprimand. Allowing an employee to act unjustly by non-performance is enabling him, to act with injustice, toward fellow workers, you and the boss. Being a good Christian, and it is evident you are, does not mean allowing people to use and abuse you and others, or take advantage of you and others. You are under no obligation to him when he is not performing, except stopping his behavior by firing him. You will in the end be doing him a favor! Good luck! Blessings! faholo

My boss has honed indecisiveness
and procrastination to a fine art, besides he doesn't work at my office and is busy with his job.  At last rant, he told me he wouldn't be appointing him based on his current performance.  Next week I'll try to find out what he wants me to do with him.

Word--
It sounds like he is just a body taking up space there and he doesn't add a shred of value--why can't he be let go??
