Corbin,

unfortunately this ignorance of Islam and history is not new in Washington, and is found in both parties. Here's what Timothy Furnish, an expert who has written  extensively on the Middle East, had to say about the Iraq Study Group Report: "...it is particularly disappointing when America’s best and brightest bipartisan foreign policy minds, when tasked by the President to devise ways to drain the bog of war in Iraq, come up with a document steeped in historical misunderstandings and downright inaccuracies about Islam, Iraq and the Middle East."

If you ask me, which is okay
because nobody has ever nominated me for anything, we aren't going to win this war. Why? Because, we can not overcome Muslims and they can't overcome us.  Overcoming eachother would more or less require some kind of mass extermination of people who agree with one side or the other.  All parties have shown they are willing to die and kill for their cause, which is irrational and self-destructive. We will cut our throats to cut theirs, and vice versa. We might as well colonize the moon.  Hey, space colonies would get a big financial boost if they decided to film a reality tv show in one.  Take care

Another new era in politics - or is it an old one::::
The public is thoroughly disgusted with most of our elected officials...we've come to the conclusion that they're all MORONS!
