Julia...
I think I know why.  She was an addition to the household and my neighbor has a beloved Lhasa Apso that is 17 and comes first all the time.  While my golden is still my favorite I try to keep it a secret, unless Lucy isn't looking.  I think Lucy generally just feels more loved and accepted.  And, we're home almost all the time so she isn't locked up in a crate like she is next door.  :)
