Actually, I try doing both at the same time, but I'm not a neat eater. If anyone raises eyebrows at the chocolate smudges on the paper then I blame the kids!

Good that you have your priorities straight.  I'd rather eat a pastry than write poetry any day of the week!!  LOL

Wait a couple of years! McMincemeat pie at McDonald's! They've already got McSpaghetti in Indonesia (really, really bad)!

Yep, like a steak and kidney pud with fruit. Cool!

The original sweetmeats were just that ; sweetened meats. And mincemeat was just that too ; minced meat with fruit.

Beats a Big Mac. Even with fries. But hold the mayo!LOL

That sounds good! Maybe it would even be good with a combination of fruit and bacon (or some other meat).

My seven siblings and I were brought up on Boiled Baby, otherwise know as Baby's Head.

This was a suet pudding boiled in a cloth, usually with dried fruit, but often made as a main meal with bacon and onions instead of fruit.

All very low fat, lean cuisine you know!

Lady Ariela still makes them as an occasional treat, and they go a bomb with guests.
