I know! When I came back to Seattle on vacation, I was stunned by how many Dutch there were (By the way, I've even heard that Starbucks was started by a Dutchman). I hope your friend likes it in Seattle (I do miss Pike's Place Market) as much as I like The Netherlands. The weather's certainly the same!

I found it interesting reading your about me section...I dated a woman for two years that was dutch, living Seattle, the opposite of you. Actually she was Dutch Indonesian. Anyways, welcome to blogit.

HB, the writing / blogging balance is a tricky one. Best trick is to create
a fusion of the two, where the one world creeps into the other.
As for those bats, you've reminded me of a poem I wrote. I'll dig it out and post it. If I don't, nudge me.

Yes the summer here is gorgoius at present & I love the freedom it brings. Hot today which must be a far cry from you at present. The winter will end I suppose.The draw back for me is isolation . I love my country and decided long ago I could never live anywhere else but sometimes Europe calls. Expensive but one must go. Keep editing
