Thanks, Holy Grail!
Yeah, she's my girl and I couldn't fathom putting her to sleep. She did have seizures and she had some open sores, but those are all gone now so I am relieved that I didn't put her down as was suggested! Thanks for reading!!

You're right, Talion.
We don't know if she will ever regrow all of her hair. She has regrown a small portion of it, but her skin is really rough (a side effect of the yeast cleansing from her body) and the hair that has grown back is very wiry instead of being soft like a golden usually is.

Oh I was so glad to hear that things turned out okay!! Six is so young. It's unbelievable that someone would suggest ending a life due to hair loss! Sunday will be a year since I put my sweet Montana to sleep, and that was the hardest decision I've ever had to make in my life. If he'd just been missing some hair he would still be with me. I could barely do it even though he could no longer stand up on his own, most days couldn't walk, and I often came home and found him stranded lying in his own waste. A little hair loss? Pish posh. She's healthy now and happy. I'm sure you don't give much thought to the people who say that anyway. You know what's what. And heck, someone loved this poor little dog:

People who don't have pets often don't get it. Putting her down for cosmetic reasons is just plain ridiculous. Is she ever going to grow her hair again?

It's a good thing that animals don't react the way humans do...
Most of us would probably have been put down by now!!

You're so right, Julia
The thing is, this dog has loved me through my roughest times when I have looked well or even behaved well. So, why should I put her down? You know that when her and my cats talk they have discussed "putting me down" just to put me out of my misery in the past! She may not be beautiful to look at, but she has brought many beautiful things to my life and whenever I see those big brown eyes I remember that everything will be okay as long as I aspire to be as great as she thinks I am.

LOL Oddy!
Actually things are pretty good right now. It seems that the universe is always throwing tests my way, but generally things are wonderful, I'm just much more appreciative of what I do have because there are things in my life that remind me that things could be a lot worse. :)
The dog has made a wonderful come back, as long as she stays on her meds she is great! :) Thanks for reading.

Heh - I lost my hair once and I'm sure glad no one was suggesting "I be put down"! Clearly you love your dog deeply - ignore the sneers.

Rachel--
This is just another fine example of why we humans should not always be judging the book by its cover. Beauty comes from within, so enjoy whatever time you have with the "ugly" dog and forget what other people say!

Dang Rachel, even the Dog’s ill.
Geez, my dear, you do have your share of difficulties. Fate must indeed be saving up a bunch of pleasant surprises for you.
