Dave--- Just for you, I addressed "would of" in my most recent post.
And you're the headliner!

Dave---- If you will help me with "lease" and "leash." Before I speak
either one, I must stop and think about what I'm about to say.

And another thing:
How about a post on the phrase "I couldn't care less" (makes perfect sense) often written down on Blogit as "I could care less" (or does that mean that the writer doesn't care much about x but could have even less of a care - is it a form of medium non-caring?) Bah humbug!
Also, you have to teach me not to slip up with reign & rein now that Blanche is not here to look out for me.

Another one that comes from speech that always irks me is:
would of instead of would have. When you say it, you shorten it to would've, but many transcribe it as would of.
One thing I discovered last night which surprised me: Americans will say per whereas in the UK we say as per. Eg, as per the instructions. Just an aside, prompted by the chat about language usage.
Now than, I'd better go rather then keep nattering on. Hoho.
