Also the fact that O'Donnell is an outspoken and self-described liberal makes her cannon fodder for the rightwing media. When she says something over-the-top, like when she said gun owners should be thrown in prison, the rightwing media blowhards can play the tape and portray her views as the views of liberals in general.
