Glennb, actually a more potent comparison is between Ford and

Saddam Hussein.  Two deaths, same week, worlds apart.

But regarding James Brown, there's a good chance he DID have a say in his funeral arrangements before he died.  It's the in thing, ya know.

JanesOpinion,
Interesting topic?? Since it is someone else making the decision! And why even make the comparison?

Yep.....
Ol' rigor mortis sets in and it's hard to cloth the body....some funeral parlors sell specially made dresses and suits for just that purpose.

Corbin, that's a relief!
So are you telling me that the favorite outfit a family member brings in to dress the body of a loved one is actually cut down the back and just tucked around the body?  Huh!  Learn something new every day!!!!  Thanks Corbin!

Janes......
It's just that.......there were so many Christmas outfits unworn....

Offy....they are not complete pieces of clothing just halves of clothing tucked under.  They don't actually dress the body like a mannequin.......

bel, just as long as we're wearing SOMETHING, eh?

that is just kind of odd to me
Seriously, as long as they don't something ugly on me, I don't care what I am wearing at my own funeral!

Justi, I must admit I know little about the man and am sorry to hear
of this legacy he left behind.  Obviously there was more to his life than music. . . .

Jane's
You don't immediately turn into a saint upon dying. I will take the solemnity and closed casket anytime over the flamboyant and lifetime of drunkenness and wife beating right up to the last days. Sorry death does change a man no matter how many suits you put on him.

Their funerals suit their personalities
James Brown was flamboyant, President Ford wasn't.
