TAPS, More than word loss, we have lost a certain tone of civility. Just
Watch any older movies from the 40's & even the 50's. A tone of respect is there between mother and daughter, even when they are arguing. I'm thinking of Butterfield 8, but it was there when we watched the Birds too.

There is a continuous growth of Globish in our world, which is making communication easier but, to me, it predicts the loss of some of our beautiful and unique English words that will be used less and less until they are remembered no more.  I have a new dictionary that has dropped many old words and so I have to keep my old raggedy one handy for just such use.
