Know such sorrow well.  Have spent many long hours, years even, anguishing my inability to sustain the great love of all time, or at least the enchantment of some, oh-you-are-the-one-forever, love.  Yet even in the midst of such a love there is the fear of it's ending, as all things do, at best with the death of one of us,  My escape from the pain is in practicing non-attachment to the physical plane and focusing on
