I ran away from home as a kid
I ran to next door and noone worried much at all. When I was over it I walked home and noone asked where I had been,
sigh,

LOL......my folks took advantage of the 6 month layaway plan, which could explain why I was never in style.
The one time that I was going to run away from home.....everyone wanted to help me pack

I was an incredibly introverted child, at twelve, I think all I wanted was
stay home. I would even draw the curtains, turn off the lights to fool any visitors into thinking that no-one was home. Naturally, I never thought about running away, because that'd mean *gasp*
going outside.

LOL - The things we do as kids
I once "ran" away from home when I was 11, but was too scared so hid in the dog kennel. After a long while I came out and asked why nobody had come looking for me when I said I was running away. My mom said they saw me crawl into the dof kennel and were all waiting to see how long I would hide there

Passion, my sweet little granddaughters arrive from Dallas tomorrow. I just baked them some cookies and I'm so excited, I don't know if I'll be able to sleep tonight. Hubby and I went Christmas shopping for them and the other kids today. I've got all the presents wrapped and under the tree.

They never made much of it. No one to this day has asked me WHY I wanted to leave home.

Passion, what a cute kid you must have been. Imagine, your child working so hard to buy a suitcase to run away with. That makes me sad. How did your mother handle that?

Thanks for clearing that up Offbeat...LOL!
I guess it was a strange thing to do but I had already made up my mind to run away but just didn't have anything to put my things in.
It seemed like a logical thing to do.
