i also lament that the season is so commercialized.  it has departed from the original intent no matter what it may be.

I'm not saying that Jesus was born on Christmas.  I'm well aware that Jesus was likely born in the spring but since December 25th is the day that the Christian faith has chosen to honor His birth, I think that others don't have the right to trample it and use it for the benefit of the almighty dollar or for their own self serving interests.

are you saying he was?

Christmas is based on pagan celebrations -- from one end of it to the other.

are you saying it isn't?

what most people seem to believe about the "Christmas Story" has been embellishments added beginning over a hundred years after the fact.

Thre is not that much in the gospels to support much of what has been accepted.
