vine and stone

dear rfriend,

I was a bird who fell from the nest too young, mauled by some low cats some dogs too, but found shelter in your high leafy vines, perhaps adding some kind of fertilizer to the edges of your soil, feeling surely that mine was the blessing of healing, yours the burden.  Quarried stone, transplanted, changed the zen for all.  I didnt know that feline flashbacks would terrorize anew, leave you down in your stoneless grief alone, and me flapping overhead, screeching "Get up, get up".   Your viney roots had to dig deep without my help.  I flew around and around and around, useless to you who had given me so much.

And altho I'll never regain the nest time, and feel saddened that I could not be a refuge for you when your strength was moved, I know that now you grow by your stone again.  And I have learned to fly.  "Thanks" cannot express my love.  May you ever be at peace with blessings raining gently on you and yours.

ever your dfriend
