Thank you Katray

LOL Temple

no worries about going on.  As a friend of mine once put it "Unless you have done it, you won't understand".  While others can appreciate what it's like, it's hard to really comprehend unless you have done it.

I love the wearing DCU's on friday in support of those overseas.  Remind me someday and I will tell you how I deflated some poor Marines ego one day.

Oh, lookee there...
Happy Anniversary is in order... Happy Anniversary to the both of you.  I'm glad you are together and have had some decompression time to celebrate properly.  Buy yourself something nice from Carl. :)

Ah, yes, the very important butt factor. :)
I haven't ever heard Marines call them BDU's, but Billy (cargo) said that on the phone the other day because when he was in Iraq -- as a sailor in the Army doing logistics -- he used all their gear.  What does it stand for?  I love Fridays because Marines in my husband's battalion wear deserts in support of the troops in Iraq (he's in H&S because he's transitioning out... if they let him go...).  I LOVE his butt in deserts, they just fit better, LOL.  He says, baby, this is not a factor for uniform selection... uh, yeah it is!   You know what I love about being a military wife?  People, like on base, wives and other service people, are so nice.  I fainted in the commissary once, and Eddie's arm was in a sling so he couldn't get me... I just slid down the stacks of boxes of kleenex.  People were right there... can I help you?  Do you need water?  Can I call someone?  If that happened in a regular store, I could be sprawled out all over and they'd just walk around me... lol... And where else can you go that there is special parking for pregnant woman... BEFORE the CO no less?  Love that.  Sorry, I do go on, but my friends just go, huh?  So, it's fun to have someone to tell this stuff to. Seriously, I hope Carl's arm and everything is getting tended to.   I know how you feel about, well, you know, the aftermath.  If you ever need to talk, don't hesitate to email.

LOL Temple
I don't know if I would know how to have a conversation that didn't involve acronyms any longer.  I was having an email conversation the other night with my best friend, her fiancee' (who also happens to be military) and another Army wife the conversation went from the BAH to Tricare and to the discussion that we want BDU and DCU's back the digi uniforms don't fit nice butts nearly as well LOL!

Aw, you two sound so sweet. I like that shopping idea... hmm..
I'm glad it's not just me that speaks in acronyms!  I write in my posts (or in life to friends) and then realize I have to translate what I'm saying, BAH, BAS, MOS... LOL... the Marines just call them camis, or digis (because Marines have the digital looking version)... or more specifically deserts and greens.  But then there's the other things like chevrons, cover (cami "hat" for stateside because it basically just sits on the head, you don't pull it down... you probably know all this...), and my favorite, the cami top is called a BLOUSE.  Some part of me loves telling my macho Marine husband... here's your blouse baby...
